| BirdSource
- is a revolutionary partnership between citizens and scientists.
Designed and managed by the National Audubon Society and the Cornell
Lab of Ornithology, BirdSource scientists offer citizens the opportunity
to "bird with a purpose." Together, we track birds and contribute
our findings online to define bird ranges, populations, migration
pathways, and habitat needs. Thanks to citizen participation, BirdSource
is a powerful new tool for bird conservation. |

Birdhouse Network - a citizen science project of the
Cornell Lab of Ornithology. The Birdhouse Network is a continent
wide monitoring program in which people place birdhouses in their
yard or neighborhood and then monitor the cavity-nesting birds nesting
inside their birdhouses (also called nest boxes). Participants across
North America gather information such as the number of eggs and young
in the nest and submit their data over the Internet to scientists
at the Lab of Ornithology for analysis. |

Poh - Laurence Poh is an experienced
photographer and discovered the joys of digital photography with the
purchase of a Nikon CoolPix 950 digital camera in 1999. He too, is
an avid birdwatcher and is very active with the birdwatching group
of the Malaysian Nature
Society (MNS). A spotting scope is often used to observe birds
from a distance without alerting them of your presence. It didn’t
take him long to realize that his 2 interests could be combined, and
digiscoping was born. |
